What does dextrose equivalent 19 mean?
The dextrose equivalent provides information about the percentage of reducing sugars in maltodextrins. Starch, for example, has a dextrose equivalent of 0, while glucose has 100. Maltodextrin 19 works after about 10-15 minutes, while maltodextrin 6 only works after 1-2 hours.
