What does dextrose equivalent 19 mean?
The dextrose equivalent indicates the percentage of reducing sugars in maltodextrins. For example, starch has a dextrose equivalent of 0, while glucose has a dextrose equivalent of 100. Maltodextrin 19 takes effect after approximately 10-15 minutes, while maltodextrin 6 takes effect after 1-2 hours.
